A few weeks ago Courtney and I were extremely bored because it was a Thursday. Thursdays are just like any other day except we each have one class and they are both done by about noon. After class and a quick stop at Edge [lunch for a dollar!], we headed back to The Box to find something to do. Feeling a little outdoors-ey we ventured off to Tom Brown Park for some fresh air and hiking.
We started off on a trail, pretty much with no clue where it would take us [in retrospect this wasn't one of our better judgment moments]. After walking for a good 15 minutes we came across this map:
After realizing we had no clue what the map was saying or where we were on it [no "You Are Here" sticker!], we decided to just go for it and set off once again. We happened to see these really cool looking train tracks and just as Courtney began to say how cool it would be to see a train go by, A TRAIN WENT BY!
We walked for about an hour and a half or so and came to a fork in the trail. We decided to go left, with no real reasoning behind it, and wound up in a neighborhood. It was really weird! We had no idea there was a neighborhood attached to Tom Brown Park so when we ended up walking out into someone's front yard we were extremely confused. And I made the conclusion it was like we were in The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, aka: Chronicles of Narnia!
After this we walked for another 45 minutes and somehow managed to find our way back to the car! All in all it was a wonderful day to explore the great outdoors!
