Hello Tally

After a long night of packing [that ended at about 2 in the morning!] we got up early and got ready to head out. I had a nice breakfast with my Daddy-O at a favorite restaurant: Briar Patch on Park Avenue. If you're ever in Orlando you should check it out. Shelby and I piled into my car while Mom and Chuck piled into theirs. The drive was long but exciting, and did I mention long?
We got to SouthGate sometime in the afternoon and were quickly greeted by some very-handy boys who helped us unload our cars. They put everything on two racks and helped me move it all in to the room. So what exactly did this room look like? Well, when Courtney arrived it was extremely bland.

As you can see this room just was not going to cut it. So we added a few items and spiced it up a little bit. It still isn't finished because we can't get the canvas' to hang up. Any ideas? Let me know! But it is definitely improved! Here's a look at the after:

And now for Courtney's side of the room:

And the finishing touch to this fun girly room would have to be our shower curtain:

I know this post keeps growing but there is one more thing I HAVE to share with everyone! Our first night in Tally Courtney and I both went our separate ways and ate dinner with our families. Uncle Larry took us all to the University Club and we got to eat and watch part of a scrimmage game! We could see Bowden out there! Afterward Mom and Chuck took me back to SouthGate to say goodbye. As we pulled up we though out loud: "It looks so dark. I don't think the power is on."
Come to find out, the terrible storm that had started up during dinner took out the power at SouthGate. So I waited outside for about 20 minutes before finally braving the dark and heading upstairs. [At first they wouldn't let us go up because it was a liability]. I walked up 4 flights of stairs and down a long corridor using only the glow of my cell phone to find room 444. As I sat in the dark I got a knock on the door and was happy to see 3 of my friends [Tyler, Thomas, and Phillip]. We talked for a little while and then I went and rode out the power outage in there room with the wonderful glow of open laptops. It was quite an eventful first evening in Tallahassee. Just thought you should know!

Sarah, Love the room and oh the shower curtain... I find it completely amazing that God put all of your Edgewater friends in the same building, on the same floor... Do some amazing stuff Sarah... we will all be praying for you as your new journey begins..

The room is looking great- if those comforters ever come up missing you'll know where to find them!! I know that God is going to use you as you continue to trust and obey Him in every area of your life! I can't wait to see lots more blog posts telling of all the wonderful ways He is using you and growing you to become the woman He desires you to be!

What a way to start off your year in Tally! Just be glad you weren't in that elevator when the power went out! Lesson of the day: keep a flashlight in your room and in your car!
