Easily Distracted
As if Photobooth on my MacBook wasn't a big enough distraction, I also brought along my digital camera on our Study Date at Maclay! I got a little bored and decided to play around with my Macro settings. Then a tiny subject caught my attention and occupied about 30 minutes of my time!

MACs in Maclay
With the pressure of oncoming finals Courtney and I decided to finally focus and really study. The Box is a bit distracting [Jack, the a/c never stops yappin] so we got up and outside at Maclay Gardens. While most people find studying a bit of a mundane task, we wanted to document our hard work preparing for our first college finals:

Crossing The Line
The state line that is. The weekend before our wonderful Winter Break, Chika and Bella hit the highway and headed to Georgia for some antique browsing and Christmas shopping. After a slight detour, which is a nicer way of saying "we got lost!", we made it to Thomasville Georgia.
Since we really didn't have a specific address to type into the Magellan [Courtney's GPS thing in her car], we decided to choose 1st street. It just so happened that First Street was not exactly in the best part of town. It was a little rundown but it did have a familiar street name, check it out:

Once we found the strip of stores we walked up and down looking in every antique shop we could! I saw a brick wall that was simply picture-worthy so, of course, I captured it! We also found this amazing piece of furniture that would make a GREAT t.v. stand and with all of the drawers there is plenty of storage for DVDs and all that jazz.

I wish I had pictures of our "detour" because it was the most beautiful mistake I've ever made. The road we took to head the right direction was a two-lane road winding through a canopy of trees. Sunlight flickered through the branches and cast a golden glow, washing the colors of everything as if we were in an old movie. There were gorgeous plantation homes on large planes of green with curtains of orange and red autumn leaves. It was incredible! What a beautiful reminder of the splendor and detail of God's creations!

White Elephants Like To Party
Last weekend, Friday night, Courtney and I's FishMom Amanda hosted a Christmas Party. It was a chance to dress up, get out, and exchange gifts-- white elephant style. If you aren't familiar with the game, the way it works is this:
First- everyone draws a number
Next- the first person picks a gift from under the tree and unwraps it
Then- the second person can either pick a new gift from under the tree or steal the first person's gift
Rules- once a gift has been "stolen" 3 times it is "dead" so it cannot be stolen anymore.
I was SO close to winning Pride and Prejudice on DVD but instead I ended up with a wooden lamb from a Nativity Scene that had to be returned to the owner. Booo!

There is a picture of me and Bill somewhere but I think it is on another girl's camera. So be on the look out! I know you all are excited!

Christmas in The Box
Thanksgiving Break was quite a tease. That little taste of home was supposed to last all the way until Christmas Break! When Courtney and I got back we were just a little bit excited about the idea of Christmas coming soon so we decided to get the Box into the right spirit too.
That's why on Thursday [when we came back], we held a Christmas Party for two and decked the halls. Here's a little glimpse of our cookie-filled, hot chocolate-drenched, Christmas lit party!

It took a couple of tries to get the lights just right!

Sometimes extreme measures are taken to achieve Christmas Cheer!
